Other than during the Aurora Borealis  it is rare to see green in the sky. An old memory I still have is of being called a liar by my teacher in front of the whole class, because I claimed to have seen green in a sunset. 

Well, here we have it, a belated 38 or so years ago. As sunlight hits high cloud at a low angle (just before sunset in this case) the ice crystals refract the light into the colours of the rainbow, and here we have green visible along with some other colours.

This effect is fleeting and easy to miss but I just happened to be cloud watching, as one does sometimes.
